Body Mass Index (BMI)
BMI is a simple screening measure that estimates body fat based on your weight relative to your height (kg/m²). It is widely used to classify weight status and assess health risk.
- Normal (18.5–24.9) — Lower risk for chronic diseases.
- Overweight (25–29.9) — Modest changes can meaningfully reduce risk.
- Obese (30+) — Increased risk for type 2 diabetes and heart disease.
Ideal Weight
Devine formula was used to calculate ideal weight.
Men: 50 kg + 2.3 kg per inch over 5 ft
Women: 45.5 kg + 2.3 kg per inch over 5 ft
Weight Loss & Rate
Loss of 5–10% of body weight improves blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol. 1–2 lb per week (about 4–8 lb per month) is considered safe and sustainable.
